monday again...

i'm in the home stretch! scary.
my half is 2 weeks from this saturday. am i ready? everyone keeps saying "you'll be fine, you'll be fine", "you'll do great". they keep saying that, but i'm not totally sure i believe them. yes i've been training. but i'm still not sure. five miles downhill. i maybe made the mistake of driving up to aspen grove yesterday {our starting point for the race} and i thought to myself...what the heck am i thinking?! no going back now though. 19 days weather i like it or not!
.
.
last friday night was our company end of year party. we had a private imagine dragons concert.
it was pretty fun. i've been to a total of 3 concerts in my life now. woo. i was able to get 3 extra tickets and brought my roomie, and dillon and danielle. unfortunately the 2 extra tickets for danielle and dillon were in a different section, so we couldn't sit with the, but they're super great and still had lots of fun and just were happy to get to go.
by the end of the night i was hoarse and deaf in my right ear. it was great. plus...hello my seats were pretty sweet.

 {before the show started}

 {concert in action}
 {everyone turned the lights on your phones on, it looked pretty cool}
.
.
this weekend was also general conference for the chuch of jesus christ of latter-day saints!
i adore conference weekend and the church. it's always so wonderful to hear the counsel and guidance from the leaders of the church. they are truly inspired men and women and i know they are speaking the words of God.
it was a fantastic conference and much was said that i needed to hear.
{post conference halloween crafts - i hate those windows, everyone can see inside at night}

that's right, this is happening...

this being that i'm boycotting going downstairs to the cafe because of the sickening, overpowering smell of cooked onions that is down there. i'm eating my oatmeal cold...in protest. not that anyone down there will notice, or care.
but really people, we all know i hate onions {and when i say hate, i mean HATEx1000 - i'm dramatic, i know} but the smell of those onions has currently travelled up 3 flights of stairs and elevator shafts and is currently seeping into what i thought would be my safe 3rd floor office. but is it safe? no...no it's not.
.
i will mostly likely spend the rest of the day smelling onion-y/BO smells that has permanently attached themselves to my hair/clothing/skin.
.
.
i also did the awesome thing of promptly falling back to sleep after turning my alarm off this morning. {awesome} but i was having a lovely dream that i was going to be in london for christmas and that i would get to go to the top of the tower of london. who can blame me?
at the very least it's friday, that today has that going for it. hurray for the weekend...
AND it's general conference! i love general conference. since moving to utah i've gone to at least one session of every conference. i'm keeping that tradition alive during the sunday morning session. this girl scored herself some tickets!
.
.
.
you all have a wonderful weekend now. and dream of this 6-layer salted caramel chocolate cake...because it's heaven {thank you martha...you've outdone yourself this time!}
. but really it is. uphoria enducing cake people, and that caramel? don't get me started.

apple pickin...

it's been a while i know. what with my ever so important and busy live {not} i just haven't found the time to say anything.
anywho...weekend was sweet, and i'm sad to see monday come, though it's not all bad. i'm getting off early today...and tomorrow to kick it with some pretty sweet peeps - aka the fam.
.
.
i thought i'd inform you of my newest love. it come in the form of apples, spread with copious amounts of peanut butter {where has this been all my life?!}, which i get for free all day at work. no i do not work in an orchard. but i get all the delicious washington fuji apples i want to eat until my hear is content. and let me tell you, it's pretty dang content over here.
.
besides having a bbq at the park friday night, getting a massage saturday morning, making breakfast saturday/sunday morning, going to see the hunger games saturday night, eating delish tai food, and hanging with my family last night... THIS was my favorite part of the weekend. enjoy!

wonderful weekend...

this weekend has been spent watching general conference for the church of jesus christ of latter-day saints. i love conference weekend! it's been a wonderful weekend full of uplifting messages and inspiration to make me want to do and be better!
i love our sweet prophet and leaders and i'm so appreciative for the guidance love and inspiration they are given to help lead us through this life. they truly are a blessing!
.
.
yesterday my roomie jenni and i were able to go to the afternoon session and it was wonderful! i love being able to hear their words in person. also it was a beautiful {although super hot for oct} day and it couldn't have been better.
{conference center just after the session ended}
{beautiful salt lake temple!}
{sitting in the far back section of the conference center}
{view of temple square from the top of the conference center}
.
.
i hope you all have had as good of a weekend as i have!
also...hello october-how did you get here so quickly?!

turning the other cheek...

i'm at barnes and noble right now {surprise surprise}. there is an employee here who is a total nazi. i don't think there has ever been a time when i've been here that she hasn't come back to where we all sit, to harp on someone about something. today it was my turn i guess. i pushed one of the cushion chairs about 3 feet to the right so i could sit in it and still reach the outlet to plug my computer in {they only have like 2 outlets on one wall-poor spacial planning if you ask me}. but within 5 mins here she comes to tell me not to push around the chairs. oh well, it's already done and i'm now happily sitting in a soft chair with my computer plugged in.
.
.
anywho. it's the weekend...well it's friday anyways. i still don't really look forward to the weekends because of my lack of things to do, but tomorrow i will be at the museum to help with "museum day". original i know. but there's all kinds of stuff going on so it should be fun.
.
next weekend is general conference and i'm so excited! when i was younger i totally didn't appreciate conference at all, as i'm sure many teenagers do, but i love it now. i love listening to the talks and the stories, and i'm hoping to be able to actually go to a session this year! besides all that i have a bunch of friends that will be in town so i'm DOUBLEY excited! i can't wait to see people.

happy easter...

happy easter weekend...i feel like it is very early this year, and it's the same weekend of general conference. this is a very nice weekend indeed.
yesterday i got to leave work early {yea} and then i spent the evening with my carlita-we got dinner and watched friends and 500 days of summer. i was going to sleep in this morning but got woken up by incredibily loud cupboards and drawers--but that's ok.
alyssa and i are the only ones home today so we made crepes for breakfast and watched the first session of conference, then went to the store and got some food to make a lovely dinner for tomorrow and rented some movies for tonight.
can i just say it's quite nice it only being two of us--we each get our own couch.
.
.
.
i hope you all have a lovely weekend--i am loving conference and look forward to what is said tomorrow--i only wish i was able to spend easter with my family.
