i can not hear you so there's no point in talking to me...

in less than a week, i've been so fortunate as to get some weird infection in my throat, be told that i possibly have mono, followed by a DOUBLE EAR INFECTION, a hacking cough, and near deafness in my left ear. life is peachy.

in all seriousness though...my ears? what's the deal? this is, count it, ear infection number four and five. since last august. i feel like i need to go get tubes or something. i'm simultaneously living the life of a three year old, and a grandma {i only had to take one million pills this morning}.

i got some good ol' horse sized pills there. 

and can i just say that i hate missing a full day of work? and by that i mean i love it, but i hate it. what do people do all day when they're sick at home? people said watch tv, watch movies, sleep. well i'm not one to take it easy when i'm sick...i know i know...so i was bored to tears. i watched 5 movies while i worked on a poster i'm making for my roomie and, luckily, was able to sleep through most of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. {i am not a napper-so this was miraculous...at least it passed 2 hours}.

so while my ears don't hurt anymore, they are still totes plugged up which has made hearing anything, very difficult. and annoying to the max. on the verge of insanity. i don't like losing my senses.

let's hear something positive here...um...the weather has been awesome! glorious really. i'm already sporting a super sweet farmers tan. now the pools and 7peaks just need to open so i can fix that. bring it on summer...bring it on.

ps...my sister erin will be in utah TODAY! today people. i am so excited. {though i won't see her until saturday...and that's if i am completely healed by then. pray for a super fast recovery!}

friday night plans...

what does one do when they're told that they might possibly have mono, and it feels as though two  golf balls are permanently lodged in your throat, and your head is killing you, and you're oh so, SO so tired?

well apparently i wait it out. it's to early to test for mono, so in the mean time i will cancel my friday night plans, get a redbox movie, and lay on the couch at home while i rock the ice cream i'm eating, back and forth because it feels oh so lovely on my throat.

you know when you have those kind of rotten weeks? well this has not been among the best for sure. but it's friday now. so hurraaaay friday, you only took one-million years to get here.

there were a couple of cool things that went on this week that help make it more bearable:

.

1 - while walking into hoopes vision {with the lovely danielle for her eye appt.}, we saw none other than my fave apostly, L. Tom Perry. seriously guys, i love him. he's just the cutest and sweetest man and talked to us like he'd known us for years. {only in utah does this happen}

2 - i took a MUCH needed mental health day, well half a mental health day. i got to hang out with danielle which i enjoyed because it doesn't happen too much these days. you know, she's all busy with a fiance and planning her nuptials and whatnot. i mean really...who does that? ;)

we shopped a little, and had a late lunch, and she let me vent her ears right off, which i also needed.

3 - movie night with my good friend heather to see Iron Man 3. it was pretty good peeps. i did enjoy it, way more than the 2nd one {honestly, i wasn't a fan}.

4 - my wonderful sister erin is moving to UT! best news ever! seriously...i can't wait for her to be closer. we're closest in age so we were {we fought like crazy growing up} are pretty dang close. plus she just recently had a new little babe so i get to mug on him all i want!

5 - gorgeous weather...since yesterday anyways. though i did enjoy the rain/thunderstorms we were having. 80* this weekend ppl, and 90* {90*!} on monday. summer, you are finally here. thank the almighty!

on a side note, today went by surprisingly fast for a monday. then i went and bought a new pair of jeans. is it just me, or do jeans ware out fast? maybe i should wear more than one or 2 pairs and they'll last longer. it's a thought.

well i'm off to watch football...? believe it.

please stop being sick. it is no fun. and honestly...i can't afford to miss work, or go to the dr. thank you.

tall non-fat no-whip hot chocolate...

i've had to relocate. thank you barnes and noble for being stupid and covering every outlet in your store? i don't understand. but whatever. my new hangout will have to be starbucks. which is kind of ok because i positively LOVE the smell of coffee. i could quite literally sit in here all day.

though...can i just say...people are stupid.

today is a very windy day. every person who has come in here goes through the right door and the wind HOLDS it open. but they just keep going on their merry way and let the door fly open in the wind. in the mean time. i'm freezing my bum off in the wind and having to get up, {count it} 10 times to pull the door closed.

also, i feel like i might have to buy something everytime to use the internet here so i'm not sure if we'll be coming super often. the lady who made my hot chocolate today made it SUPER foamy. like my straw could stand up straight in the center of the cup because there was so much foam. not my favorite.

anywho. today is a lovely monday. right? yes. i don't have work today or the museum so i've been having a blissfully lazy day. i got my car washed {which then promptly got pooped on my a bird} but other than that looks nice and shiny and clean. went to the gym, i'm going to run a few errands and then i have fhe tonight.

my weekend of full of working. i was sick on thursday {thanks meb :)} and was still recovering friday but was able to make it to work friday night. saturday was pretty much the same, and that evening danielle r. and i had dinner at texas roadhouse...at the bar. it was exciting.

basically we were the only non-couple there, but then a couple of guys sat down and i thought we were going to be able to try our hand and bar flirting. alas...it didn't happen.

sickness...

I'm sick...not fun right? we went to my sister's (erin) for christmas to spend it with her and her family and they were all sick, so it was bound to happen when you are shut up in an apartment with them. but regardless i had a good time and i enjoyed getting to see them and spend time with my adorable niece and nephew. i spent my day being the slob that i felt like, with a throat so swollen i could hardly swallow. it has now traveled from my throat to my sinuses and ears but i don't feel too terrible. {knock on wood!} though i didn't get out of my pajamas, do my hair, or my make-up at all today, i was fairly productive. seeing as how i graduate this april, i've been meaning to get my applications in for internships.

i submitted an application to this wondeful institution today! the metropolitan museum of art...how i love this museum. i'm sure my chances are slim...there are 20 open positions, but let's face it, i'm a middle class white female.

but we can still hope...

i also gathered all my information for this museum: the guggenheim museum in new york city. it is all tucked away in the envelope and ready to be mailed off tomorrow.

tomorrow is new years eve and there isn't too much planned. not for me anyways. i'm home with my parents in puyallup and i don't have any friends here, so the night will probably be spent watching a movie and falling asleep on the couch.
