that's right, this is happening...

this being that i'm boycotting going downstairs to the cafe because of the sickening, overpowering smell of cooked onions that is down there. i'm eating my oatmeal cold...in protest. not that anyone down there will notice, or care.
but really people, we all know i hate onions {and when i say hate, i mean HATEx1000 - i'm dramatic, i know} but the smell of those onions has currently travelled up 3 flights of stairs and elevator shafts and is currently seeping into what i thought would be my safe 3rd floor office. but is it safe? no...no it's not.
.
i will mostly likely spend the rest of the day smelling onion-y/BO smells that has permanently attached themselves to my hair/clothing/skin.
.
.
i also did the awesome thing of promptly falling back to sleep after turning my alarm off this morning. {awesome} but i was having a lovely dream that i was going to be in london for christmas and that i would get to go to the top of the tower of london. who can blame me?
at the very least it's friday, that today has that going for it. hurray for the weekend...
AND it's general conference! i love general conference. since moving to utah i've gone to at least one session of every conference. i'm keeping that tradition alive during the sunday morning session. this girl scored herself some tickets!
.
.
.
you all have a wonderful weekend now. and dream of this 6-layer salted caramel chocolate cake...because it's heaven {thank you martha...you've outdone yourself this time!}
. but really it is. uphoria enducing cake people, and that caramel? don't get me started.

this guy...

...is adorable!
seriously...i was tempted to take him for myself. i basically got to snuggle up with him most of the day which was awesome, especially since my plans for today included doing nothing and relaxing.
.
.
i've been getting sick the past few days so i decided i needed to relax and rest today {in hopes of some rehabilitation} all it all it's been a nice day.
also, my apartment smells like chocolate.
yum.

people do not die of a cold...

i love pride and prejudice. like a lot. i know everyone says the 6-hour version is the best...but i have never seen it so of course i have a special place in my heart for the new version.
i love mr darcy! haha he is not colin firth, but i love him none the less.
{though i was pretty upset when i saw him as the crusty sheriff of nottingham in the new robin hood movie! yuck}
.
.
what better movie is there to watch on a sunday afternoon than pride & prejudice?
this lovely sunday afternoon i made crepes...and we watched beauty and the beast. on VHS. woo.
they were delicious. i mean really. who would not love one of these? i even bought nutella for the occasion. so good, yet so bad.

music to my ears...

i've been a little obsessed with pandora lately. i've gotten a little burnt out on my usual music so i started turning on pandora instead. i'm hooked...
my favorite station is my peace train station...that's cat stevens for those of you who don't know. it plays lots of good oldies-i feel like i should be in a diner having myself a chocolate malt.

wash - rinse - repeat...

i think it's been a while...i don't even know. as of late my life consists of getting up going to work and coming home to do it all again. i did go to utah for 4th of july weekend. we had 3 baby blessings on sunday {twin 1 & 2 belonging to my sister sarah, and melissa's first} it was a pretty nice weekend...nice to not have to work, but a lot of driving back and forth and down to utah also. but i got to fly home which was nice. i love to fly...i buy a magazine and a drink, turn on my ipod and off we go. .
.
. i'm test driving a new "diet" for the next two weeks. i feel like i've fallen off, running away, from the bandwagon. i'm doing a couple of weeks of fruits and veggies, no meat, and above all no sugary candy/chocolate/baked goods etc. i have a serious weakness for sugar....seriously right now i'm craving it bad. even though no one reads it i feel like if i put it up on here i really have to stick to it, so as not to feel like a loser for saying i would then not. .
. DAY 1: i have successfully avoided eating chocolate and candy. go team...i'm sure tomorrow will be harder. i'm also going to go jogging every night/morning {which ever i don't work} to boost my feel good endorphines. here's to my further success...

don't worry--be happy...

so i've been in a bit of a funk and i have decided that i need to make myself be happy. so far...so good...{then again this was yesterday that i decided this}
.
.
i've seen a lot of people making lists of things that make them happy so here is mine:
1. temperatures above 30*...it's like summer here
2. vampire weekend's new cd {love}
3. making my roommates laugh
4. snowboarding! {new/only winter hobby?}
5. getting a big tax return
6. getting 5 new additions to my already 13 nieces and nephews
7. my fhe brothers...they crack me up
8. watching the o'reilly factor while on the eliptical at the gym
9. being a goof ball and making weird noises with alyssa while walking to class
10. my beautiful handmade books!
11. chocolate...need i say more?
