hello california! we got in yesterday evening. it was a long, dull drive. let me tell you...driving across nevada is less than exciting. we did stop at the salt flats though. the name is accurate too. i was taking the car mat out to beat out all the salt from my shoes and the wind blew it all up into my face. forgetting i had lipgloss on, i later licked my lips and found them VERY salty.
{salt flats--makes me think of independence day & will smith}
{kiera and i about to walk across the golden gate bridge!}
but we made it fun be being crazy, listening to music, and eating more than too much junk food.
.
it is gorgeous out here right now though. let me tell you!
kiera's family lives on 7 1/2 acres and has horses and a very cute house. it's pretty much all farming, pasture area around them and it's so green and lush an beautiful! a whole lot of cows too. everytime i see one i think "happy cows come from california"...anyone seen the commercial?
.
.
today we went to san francisco! i was really excited and i had a lot of fun. we saw the golden gate bridge, took tons of pictures, went to fisherman's wharf and had fish & chips for lunch, bought a super cute purse, went to ghiradelli square and got some free chocolates, went down to the water, went down lombard st {the most crooked st in the world}, and got some pretty sweet pics of...i think it's called the centennial pyramid? all in all a very fun day...i am quite tuckered out for sure.
.
i think tomorrow will be a bit more of a relaxing day. they have horses {which i hope to ride!} and some 4-wheelers which we might ride around the pasture some. fun!
i am definitely feeling more relaxed than i have in a long time. vacation is good for me because i really don't worry about anything. i can set aside all my worries and just relax, which i felt i need. there's something too about going somewhere new...this kind of tingle of excitement and surreal feeling i get at being somewhere i've never been before, and seeing things that i've seen a million times in picture, finally in person. i love the feeling and it's been a while since i've had it.
