today was a very fun day at the museum. as an intern you only have to do 6 hours a week, but i've been doing way more than that since i started...i was there for 8 today. but i love it! i'm having so much fun and learning so much and i've been able to get my hands into a little of everything.
today started at 9 when i got to the museum to start taking down the quilts from their annual quilt show. a new exhibit is going up and opening next friday...welcome sergei bongart:
his widow got in from california this morning with 54 of his paintings for the show! they are beautiful! i was really excited to see them all in person finally, the pictures didn't do them near justice. but i got to spend the day taking pictures of all the pieces for condition reports and taking candids of her, the directors, and her new husband re-wiring them, placing them etc. later i got to measure them all, making sure we had the right paintings, all that.

it's so exciting to finally be the one to handle the art and decide where it's going to do and how to place them. i've also been working on the text panel for the exhibit {text panels are put up with the exhibit and gives the viewers a little bio and info on the artist and his work} and the labels for all the paintings. it will be very exciting to see them all hung and ready to be shown.
.
i'm so happy to be doing something that i really enjoy. i'm not getting paid and i still love it! imagine how happy i'd be if i was bringing home a paycheck from this--haha
to all of you who live in utah, you should come see the exhibit, it opens sept 10 and goes until the 15th of oct.
